Research Interests

Interested in understanding the communication and regulation between host plants and endophytic plant-growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) and/or salt-tolerance promoting rhizobacteria (STPR) isolated from desert pioneer plants. Comparative genomics, transcriptomics and functional analysis approaches should help to understand the bacterial mechanisms in which conferring salt stress tolerance to plants. As proposed by DARWIN21 project, the future goal is to perform sustainable agriculture in arid and hot countries and to create a catalog of plant-associated microbes that can help improving crop resistance to different biotic and abiotic stresses.
