Andrea Gonzalez Munoz joined the Wulff Lab in August of 2021 as a PhD student. She has a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Universidad de Caldas in Colombia in 2012, and earned her Master's degree in Biological Sciences from Universidad Nacional de Colombia in 2016. From 2016 to 2021, Gonzalez Munoz worked as a researcher at the Center for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology of Colombia (BIOS) in the Bioinformatics and Biotechnology department.
Gonzalez Munoz’s research in the Wulff Lab focuses on the evolution and genetic architecture of disease resistance in the wild wheat species Aegilops tauschii. She is leading the effort to generate a pan-genome for the species as a genomics resource for resistance gene discovery.
